Per créixer, primer s'enterra
In Order to Grow One has to Bury

Lecture-performance, double projection, 20 min
2016

A double projection of images shows close-ups of cornerstone laying ceremonies in Spain. A text read in the dark binds the beginnings of this ritual, rooted in sacrifices and other animistic beliefs, with the denatured image of an angled stone. In today's ritual, the stone is replaced with a transparent methacrylate box suggesting archeology might not belong to the future, but rather to a mediated present that abolishes any possibility of ruins.
